When "The Phantom Tollbooth," Norton Juster’s book for children, was published by Random House in 1961 with illustrations by Jules Feiffer, a substantial number of parents found it just as entertaining as their offspring.
Since then, its popularity has endured, and now the story of a young boy who experiences magical adventures in a realm entered by passing through the tollbooth has been adapted for the stage by the Play Group Theatre of White Plains. The music is by Barbara Allen; choreographed movement is by Melissa Urey, and the director is Stephanie Kovacs.
Performances take place today and next Sunday at 1 and 7 P.M. at Manhattanville College.
