Notes from readers about people who enrich their communities

Troupe entertained Westhab residents

It was a pleasure to see the photograph in the Our Town section of the youthful performers in The Playgroup Theatre’s production of "Family for Sale" at the Performing Arts Center at Purchase College.

This nonprofit acting troupe comprised of children and young adults went out of its way to provide 90 free tickets to youngsters and their parents who live in Westhab’s two shelters, The Coachmen Family Shelter in White Plains and the Westhab Family Center in Elmsford.

Since it is Westhab’s hope that these children not be compromised by their experiences of homelessness, we are very grateful to organizations like the Playgroup Theatre for helping us to provide ongoing youth, education, recreation, and enrichment programs so that our children will share experiences similar to their peers.
