From The Director's Chair

From Out Of This World to The Children’s Hour, and finally, Once On This Island, the PGT fall season was a burst of creative energy, from the students and staff and volunteers alike. Including a light comedy, classic drama and musical in one season was a challenge, but one that, when met with such success, provided our audiences the entire spectrum of theatre experiences and a real glimpse at what PGT actors can really do.

We laughed with delight as "floaty fries" were ordered – again! We cried when Martha died. And when the "Islanders" sang "We Dance" we had to hold ourselves back from dancing right along with them. Directors Dana Helfrich and Stephanie Kovacs, Musical Director Barbara Orwick, Choreographer Melissa Urey and Technical Designer Steve Quinn are all to be congratulated on their wonderful work. And to the casts of all three shows – you have taught us all more than you know. You have inspired us and given an incredible gift to all those who sat in the theatre. Thank you.

To those who missed any of these performances – be sure to catch many return actors in this season’s productions. And, don’t miss Steven Abusch’s return to the artistic world as he directs You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. When this goes to print, the spring season will already be under way. If you are not participating in a class or production this season, please feel free to stop into a rehearsal or class and see what is going on. We anticipate great things this season . . . . .
