PGT Needs You

The thought of painting scenery makes you grow more thumbs? How about building sets – does it drag up concern for the two you have already? Well, there is help that is just as essential to the theatre that doesn’t require an artistic flair . . .

Thank you to Susan Katz and Maida Silver who have already committed their time to working in the PGT Office. The audience may not applaud for an updating of a database, but it keeps them informed and keeps them coming back. The filing of papers may not inspire a standing ovation but it beats standing in piles of accumulating paperwork. And maintaining financial records may not bring on smiles and laughs - but it keeps the IRS happy.

With PGT growing exponentially in artistic programming, there is just as much growth in the volume of office work. Without your time, the theatre will be overloaded. The running of a non-profit organization requires organization. Without your help, there’s too much of the basics in too little time to ever keep things in order.

I hope you’ll join the team of parents and teens that make The Play Group Theatre work. Thanks to Bill Sicari we are tackling the daunting problem of successful marketing. Geoff Shlaes is donating his expertise on non-profit organization growth and board structuring. Hune Margulies is planning an event for development and corporate fund raising.

From planning parties to pushing pencils, there’s plenty to do – vital behind the scenes work that you can do for your theatre. Just give me a call – 946-4433 – or drop an e-mail – PGToffice@playgroup.org – and put yourself on the volunteer calendar. Days and times are very flexible, so even if odd hours are available, please give them to PGT.

And even those artists among us, including our own actors Jason Siegel, Danielle Friedman and Lisa Clair, discover the first and last steps of the ‘artistic process’ in the administration of PGT.

I look forward to working with you!
