Not an actor, but love the theater? You don’t have to be on the PGT stage to share in the PGT magic – lots of magic takes place backstage too! Several students each season take part in PGT’s Internship Program. This is a great opportunity for those students interested in the ‘behind the scenes’ work, to learn more and to be a part of many of our productions. Internships include Assistant Directing, Set Construction and Painting, Theatre Administration, Props and Costume Management and Backstage Crew.
Students interested in an internship should call to arrange an interview. If you need a brochure, feel free to email the PGT Office and request one.
Interviews for internships are informal but important, as it is our chance to determine where your talents will be best utilized. The interview is your chance to fill us in on your areas of interest, as well as to find out the many different ways you can participate. Based on your interests, as well as our needs for the season, you will be placed in a specific internship under the guidance of a member of our Production Staff. Much like the actors in our Actor Training Program, who audition for the season and then get cast in one of the shows, you will interview for the season and then get assigned to one production-related internship.
Each internship requires a minimum of two hours per week, in addition to participating in at least one Tech Week for one of our productions this season. For questions regarding the interview process or the Internship Program in general, please call us at 914-946-4433.
